Trump accomplished more liberal goals within his first term than all eight years of the Obama administration. Despite this, a focus on mannerisms, which are admittedly non existent, mixed with personal attacks have left him an enemy of the people in which he has championed for.
He killed the Trans-Pacific Partnership
The Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP, was a big deal for liberals and activists throughout the Obama administration. It would have set up international tribunals in which corporations could challenge the laws and regulations of countries, sue countries for loss of expected future profits if exemptions to these laws and regulations were not authorized, and invaded the rights of citizens around the globe. It was to be upheld as Presided Obama’s legacy accomplishment, but was thankfully scrapped within days of President Trump’s inauguration.
He renegotiated NAFTA
Demanding a return to the negotiation table, Trump also put NAFTA on the chopping block in a controversial move. The end result was a trade deal that benefit all three nations called the USMCA, which gained enough bipartisan support in the US Congress that even Nancy Pelosi gave her approval.
Make no mistake. The USMCA has very dangerous provisions in it that do not suit the citizenry, as all free trade agreements do. But it remains an improvement.
He signed legislation legalizing industrial hemp
Hemp is now legal across the United States. It is now the responsibility of the free market to rise up and challenge various industries such as Big Pharma, lumber, Big Oil, etc.
He’s made real progress in ending wars and bringing troops home
Currently, the 2020 election seems to be stalling talks between the Taliban and Afghanistan government. As we highlighted previously, the hold up appears to be due to an expected pivot in policy should Biden win the presidency. This effectively signifies that the current trajectory of troops leaving Afghanistan would come to a halt and is entirely dependent on Trump’s re-election.
He stopped funding terrorists in the middle east
Much like Regan funded forces to defend against a Russian invasion that later became the Taliban and Al Qaida, President Obama did the same with Syrian rebels to fight against the Assad regime. Many of these trained and funded rebels then defected to ISIS.
Since Trump has been president, this funding came to a stop in 2017.
These are just a few
These are just a few of the major issues seen across social media during the Obama Administration. Trump has accomplished more change to issues near and dear to the hearts of many; most of which were forgotten all about as soon as Trump became elected. Blind hatred fueled by media propaganda took the place of scrutinizing actual policy.
Make no mistake. This article is not to alter your opinion on Trump. This article is intended to urge you to get back to the facts that matter, and vote with a full and informed mind. We certainly have our concerns about Trump, but you won’t hear them on the six o’clock news either.
